Admissions

The Admissions Department arranges appointments for day case and in-patient elective orthopaedic procedures for patients that have been placed on the waiting list in Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital.

Summary of Services Provided

Once you have been referred by your consultant and been placed on a waiting list the Admissions department will write to you informing you of the estimated waiting time for your procedure.

If you are having major joint replacement surgery, you will possibly have to attend the pre-operative assessment clinic to ensure your fitness for surgery. The Admissions department will arrange this appointment approximately 6-8 weeks before you are due to attend for admission.

We will endeavour to give you 2-3 weeks notice of your admission date in writing. Once you receive this letter it is essential that you telephone us on the numbers given to confirm/cancel your appointment.

Admission times are as follows

Day case                            8.00am
Inpatient                             10.00am
Same day admission          6:30am/7.00am
Sunday/Bank Holiday         2.00pm

(please consult your admission letter to ensure you arrive on time for your appointment)

We are located on the ground floor of the hospital; please follow the signs to the Admissions/MRI entrance.
