Bone Bank Service

Patients undergoing Total Hip Replacement will have part of the bone of the hip joint removed and replaced during their operation. This bone could be used to benefit other patients whose bone needs to be strengthened or replaced.

By donating your bone you would be helping another patient who needs a bone graft. Although donations are on a voluntary basis, we would urge you to consent to the re-using of your bone in this way.

One of the Bone Bank Nurses will contact you before your surgery to discuss details of this service.

To discuss this service the Bone Bank Co-ordinator can be contacted at the following telephone number: 01-8140 337.
