CHKS Accreditation

In 2004, Cappagh Hospital became the first public hospital in Ireland to be accredited by the CHKS’ (Caspe Healthcare Knowledge Systems) International Accreditation Programme for Healthcare Organisations for Organisation Management and Service Delivery.  The hospital holds the accreditation award for three years and it received accreditation again in 2007 and 2010.

National Hygiene Services Quality Reviews

In 2008, Cappagh Hospital was the only hospital out of the 50 reviewed in Ireland to receive a ‘Very Good’ rating in the National Hygiene Services Quality Review.  Further reviews were conducted by HIQA (Health Information Quality Authority) in 2009 and 2010 and Cappagh still rank as the cleanest hospital in the country.

Laboratory Accreditation

The Laboratory at Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital is licensed by the Irish Medicines Board (IMB) as a Blood and Tissue Establishment.  The laboratory aims to be accredited to the ISO 15189 (Medical Laboratories - Particular Requirements for Quality and Competency) standards by the end of 2012.
