Nursing Administration

 

The Nursing Strategy is to lead and facilitate the performance of both nursing and nurses to enable them to care for patients and to work in partnership with all those involved to achieve quality care.  We aim to ensure that nursing in Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital will reflect the ethos and mission of the hospital.

Summary of Services Provided

  • The primary role and function of the Nursing Administration Department is to oversee and manage the delivery of nursing care to patients undergoing Orthopaedic treatment at Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital and to ensure that the highest standard of care is delivered to patients and their families.
  • The Director of Nursing, Ms Kathy O’Sullivan, provides strategic and clinical leadership and direction for nursing and related services, which enhance the delivery of efficient quality nursing care.
  • The team of Assistant Directors of Nursing manages nursing services within their designated clinical areas.  Together with the Night Sisters they also provide 24 hour clinical support 7 days a week.
