Summary of Services Provided

  • Sourcing and purchasing pharmaceutical supplies for the hospital.
  • Appropriate storage of medication.
  • Negotiating with suppliers.
  • Supply of medication to wards and other hospital departments for ward stock and for specific patients.
  • Provide Ward Clinical Pharmacy Services including:
    • Verifying patient’s medication history including hypersensitivities
    • Give advice and support on appropriate drug choices.
    • Monitoring adherence to protocols.
    • Monitor and report drug costs and advise on cost reduction.
  • Staff Prescription Dispensing.

The pharmacy department is also involved in the following committee’s within the hospital:

  • Drug & Therapeutics Committee
  • Pain Management Committee
  • Medication Management Committee
