Social Work
The Social Work Department provides support and advice for patients and their families who experience social or emotional problems while attending for orthopaedic surgery.
Summary of Services Provided
- Advice and support for anyone whose social/emotional problems may be of concern to themselves or to their families in relation to their admission for orthopaedic surgery.
- Assessment and advice for patients and their families in relation to hospitalisation and discharge.
- Information on Social Welfare and Health benefits and entitlements.
You may be referred to the Social Worker by your Consultant or other hospital staff members. You and your family may also contact the Social Workers by phone, by calling to our office near the main entrance of the hospital or by asking ward staff or Reception staff to contact us for you.
