St. Teresa’s Ward
St. Teresa’s Ward is a 31 bedded elective adult orthopaedic ward consisting of 19 public beds and 12 semi-private beds; two of which are cubicles that can be used for isolation purposes if necessary.
Summary of Specialty Services Provided
The staff of St. Teresa’s Ward provide care for all patients post-operatively following both major and minor procedures. Many patients are now being admitted to the ward on the morning of surgery. The general nursing care includes pre and post-operative care, admission history taking and administration of drugs. Specific to the elective orthopaedic setting, an important focus is placed on the commencement and continuation of mobilisation before and after physiotherapy review.
